The Allergists voted to scratch it.

The Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.

The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it.

The Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.

The Obstetricians felt they were all laboring under a misconception.

The Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted.

The Pathologists yelled, ‘Over my dead body!’

While the Pediatricians said, ‘Oh, Grow up!’

The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness.

The Radiologists could see right through it.

The Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing.

The Internists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow.

The Plastic Surgeons said, ‘This puts a whole new face on the matter.’

The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward,

But the Urologists felt the scheme wouldn’t hold water.

The Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas,

And the Cardiologists didn’t have the heart to say no.

Green Party Accuses Obama of Being Traitor

Posted in Partido Verde/GP by alvarezgalloso on noviembre 21, 2008

The Green Party of America has accused President Elect Barack Obama of pandering to corporations and “warhawks” with the appointments of Rahm Emanuel, his choice of vice president such as Joseph Biden, nomination of Eric Holder for Attorney General, and former Governor of Iowa Vilsack for Agriculture Secretary.

Cliff Thornton who is the spokesperson for the Green Party of the USA accused the emerging Obama Administration of not living to its promise of change. He also revealed the records of each of the nominees. The following was taken from the Green Party USA Press Release.

“Greens called Mr. Obama’s choice of Rahm Emanuel for White House Chief

of Staff especially unfortunate, citing Mr. Emanuel’s position as

managing director of investment banks Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein,

earning him $18 million between 1999 and 2002 and his track record in

Congress since 2003. The appointment of Mr. Emanuel confirms Mr. Obama’s pledge to AIPAC that he will maintain the same uncritical support for Israel as the

Clinton and Bush administrations, whose policies resulted in

increasing human rights violations against Palestinians and greater

instability in the region.  Mr. Emanuel was also one of the original

drafters of NAFTA and now favors similar antidemocratic ‘free trade’

pacts with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea which would cost more jobs and suppress environmental and labor protections.

Despite his reputation in the media as a defender of

working people, Mr. Biden helped draft a law signed by President Bush

that relaxed regulations on financial institutions, giving them more

power over Americans facing financial problems and transferring risk

from predatory lenders to borrowers.  As an architect of mandatory

minimum drug laws (including the RAVE Act), Sen. Biden helped put the

children of working families behind bars.

Among the corporate-connected names on the list for the Obama Cabinet

are Eric Holder, Jr. for Attorney General and former Iowa Gov. Tom

Vilsack for Secretary of Agriculture.  Mr. Holder is a partner at

Covington & Burling, which represents the National Football League,

Chiquita, and Merck, and Gov. Vilsack is an enthusiastic advocate of

genetically engineered crops and corn- and soy-based biofuels, with

ties to Monsanto, whose products and policies have destroyed

independent and family farms around the world.”

I am already making plans to invite the Green Party of America for an interview. There is no guarantee that they will reply. I will also check these reports by the Green Party of America and publish them.

Greens urge Obama to appoint Cabinet members dedicated to real change,

not more corporate operatives and warhawks like Rahm Emanuel

• A Cabinet full of corporate honchos, lawyers, and shills will not

“look like America,” say Greens

WASHINGTON, DC — Green Party leaders called on President-elect Barack

Obama to appoint a Cabinet that will pursue real reform, in accord

with Mr. Obama’s promise of change in the new administration.

“Democratic and Republican presidents alike have a record of naming

industry chiefs, corporate board members and lawyers, and others loyal

to wealthy, elite interests,” said Holly Hart, secretary of the Green

Party of the United States.  “If President Obama truly believes in

‘change we can believe in,’ he’ll appoint a Cabinet that looks like

America — not just in ethnic and gender diversity, but in its

dedication to the needs of working Americans and the goal of

international peace and justice.”

Greens called Mr.

Obama’s pledge to AIPAC

that he will maintain the same uncritical support for Israel as the

Clinton and Bush administrations, whose policies resulted in

increasing human rights violations against Palestinians and greater

instability in the region.  Mr. Emanuel was also one of the original

drafters of NAFTA and now favors similar antidemocratic ‘free trade’

pacts with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea, which would cost more US

jobs and suppress environmental and labor protections.

Green Party leaders said that Rahm Emanuel’s appointment was

consistent with Mr. Obama’s choice of Sen. Joe Biden as his Vice

President.

Vilsack is an enthusiastic advocate of

genetically engineered crops and corn- and soy-based biofuels, with

ties to Monsanto, whose products and policies have destroyed

independent and family farms around the world.

“Barack Obama’s mantra of ‘change’ is already a lie.  With Rahm

Emanuel as his Chief of Staff, and with Hillary Clinton rumored to be

Secretary of State, the Obama White House is ready to pursue much of

the same agenda as previous administrations,” said Cliff Thornton,

co-chair of the Green Party of the United States.  “It’s a twisted

irony that some tried to tag Obama as a socialist, a  perception that

will make it that much easier for his administration to continue the

practice of redistributing wealth from middle- and low-income

Americans to America’s wealthiest.  Bill Clinton was denounced as a

liberal by the same right-wing pundits whose corporate buddies he was

handing America over to.  The same sell-out is going to happen all

over again.”

“Voters who elected Barack Obama because of his promise of change and

the hope of a progressive administration need to wake up and realize

they’re in for yet another fight.  Only if the voters hold Obama to

his promises can we avoid the same pro-corporate and warhawk policies

that came out of the disastrous Clinton and Bush White Houses,” added

Mr. Thornton. MORE INFORMATION

One On One with the Libertarian Party

Posted in Partido Libertario/LP by alvarezgalloso on noviembre 20, 2008

lib2

After the dust has settled in the Elections of 2008, the Libertarian Party is presenting itself as an alternative to a Republican Party that is discredited. The Libertarian Party is also presenting itself as an alternative to the Democratic Party that promised change with the same people in previous governments. I have the honor of talking with Mr. Andrew Davis who is the spokesperson for the Libertarian Party.

It is an honour and a pleasure to be talking one on one with a member of the Libertarian Party which has been marginalized unfairly in the previous elections. While the Libertarian Party did not win the US Elections for President secondary to election tactics used by the Governing Elite, they were able to retain ballot access in eight states including North Carolina.  The Libertarian Party also had two candidates that reached the one million vote mark.

It is now that we begin the conversation with Andrew Davis and the Libertarian Party.

1.   While it is not a surprise that McCain is now allied with Obama, why

are people who have voted for McCain and Obama surprised at this alliance?

I attribute it mainly to the fact that McCain/Obama voters got so caught up

in the election rhetoric of their respective parties, they didn’t grasp the

true nature of the candidates themselves.  Senators Obama and McCain are

more alike than they are different, and it’s no surprise they’d work

together on the same issues after the election as they did while in the

Senate.

2.   The Libertarian Party replaced the Republican Party as Free Market

Advocates. What can the Libertarian Party do to get that message across to

the people of America and the world? I am taking into account the dominance

of the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branch of the Government by One

Party [or One Party masquerading as two parties] as well as the dominance of

the Mainstream Media by vested interests from both parties.

Elections are always great for getting out the word about the Libertarian

Party.  By running for office, and getting their voice into the public

policy debate, our candidates are able to effectively reach out to the

general public.  As long as we keep the party going and viable, we’ll reach

more and more voters.

3.   The Elections of 2008 were the most polarizing in the nation. What

could the Libertarians have done to promote themselves as an alternative to

the ruling parties taking into account an uneven playing field in American

Politics?

The Barr campaign did that effectively by running the most visible campaign

in the history of the LP.

4.   Where there any incidence of Libertarians being discriminated against

by the Poll Workers when they went to cast their ballot? I ask this question

since I was almost denied the right to vote based on an “expired” voters

card but my drivers license was accepted.

Not to my knowledge, but it wouldn’t be out of the question.

5. Ron Paul was interviewed one night by CNN concerning the bailouts.

5A.  Is there a future for Ron Paul in the Libertarian Party?

That’s up to Ron Paul.

5B.  Why did Ron Paul not want to unite with other Libertarians in such a

crucial election?

He is a Republican, and he was running as a Republican.

6.  Why have the bailouts been a domino effect in America? It appears that

since the first bailout everyone wants to be bailed out.

And why shouldn’t they? The government is handing out billions of taxpayer

dollars to any corporation that comes with their hands held out.  Come one,

come all.

7.  How can we the People say that Enough Is Enough?

By voting out the people who voted for the bailouts.  It’s the only way.

8.  During the Elections of 2008, I wanted to interview Bob Barr and sent

him an E Mail inviting him. I also sent one to Dr. Michael Munger [LP

Candidate for Governor of North Carolina], Andy Horning [LP Candidate for

Governor of Indiana], and SUPERDELL [LP Candidate for Governor of Utah]. Dr.

Munger, Mr. Horning, and SUPERDELL accepted and were interviewed. Why was

Bob Barr unable to be interviewed? It is of my opinion that it could have

helped.

Congressman Barr had lots of requests for interviews.  Because of the

fast-paced nature of the campaign, not all interviews could be had.

9.  In future elections, how can we the alternative press make arrangements

to interview candidates from the Libertarian Party for public office?

Make the requests to the person handling press for the candidate.  However,

one must understand that requests are requests, and not a guarantee to an

interview.

10. How does the Libertarian Party see the future of America and its party?

For Andrew Davis and the Libertarian Party, I would like to thank you for the interview on such a short notice. It is hoped that we could repeat this experience with the intention of presenting other alternatives in American Politics so that the people of America can make their choice in the future.

My Best Wishes for you and the Libertarian Party.

Ban The BOMB [Bush Obama McCain Bailout]/LP Replaces Republicans

Posted in Partido Libertario/LP by alvarezgalloso on noviembre 19, 2008

Thanks to our efforts to expose the truth about the Bush/Obama/McCain Bailout (BOMB), some in Congress seem to be at least temporarily coming to their senses and putting a hold on the spending of $350 billion of the Wall Street Bailout fund.

For now, the BOMB is defused.

But in the New Year, with a great increase in the number of far left-leaning members of Congress (in both parties) anything is possible.

Since the Obama election investors have been none-too-happy with his platform of increasing taxes and government spending.  Before the election the Dow Jones Industrial average had fallen 35% with predictions that after the political races are over, there would be a recovery.  As of Monday’s decline, the Obama election has yielded another 17% decline in the market.

Barely 60 million voters – out of more than 300 million citizens in our nation — elected Barack Obama.  That’s right, 20% of the population.  Many are not going to be happy with the announcement this week that Senator John McCain has pledged to work with the new President.  Of course, this should come as no surprise to you.

So we can be sure that the Republicans aren’t going to be standing up against the Obama plans.  That leaves it up to you and me.

Libertarian Party Replaces GOP as Party of Free Market Advocates

Republicans Responsible for Massive Growth in Government Regulation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following Senator John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign, and the support of the massive bailouts by Republican members of Congress, the Libertarian Party says it has replaced the GOP as the party of free market advocates.

“The Republican Party no longer represents advocates of capitalism and the free market,” says Libertarian Party Director of Communications Andrew Davis. “The GOP’s mindless support of regulatory economic policy indicates it no longer has any philosophical or pragmatic opposition to government intervention in the marketplace.  This abandonment of free market principles makes the Republican Party no more opposed to big government than their Democratic counterparts.”

The Libertarian Party points to Senator John McCain’s lack of opposition to the use of government in solving America’s economic woes.  “This was the perfect opportunity to explain to America that government was the problem, and it was not the solution,” says Davis. “However, Senator McCain fervently believed that government had an important regulatory role in the economy, in what appears to be a growing sentiment among ‘conservatives’ in the Republican Party.”

Davis says there are still Republicans and Democrats who truly believe in the principles of capitalism, but says these Congressmen “have been so marginalized by the Party elite in the name of political expediency that they have become a silenced minority.”

The Libertarian Party’s platform states the only proper role of government in the economic realm is to protect property rights, adjudicate disputes, and provide a legal framework in which voluntary trade is protected. It further states that all efforts by government to redistribute wealth, or to control or manage trade, are improper in a free society.

The Libertarian Party blames the current financial crisis in part on government regulations and programs that distorted the housing market and removed the incentives of financial firms to make responsible lending decisions.

“If Americans want a political party that believes in the true meaning of a free market, they must look to the Libertarian Party,” Davis concludes. “The Libertarian Party is the only voice for capitalism in politics today.”

For more information on this issue, or to arrange a media interview, please call Libertarian Party Director of Communications Andrew Davis at (202) 731-0002.

The Libertarian Party is America’s third largest political party, founded in 1971 as an alternative to the two main political parties.  You can find more information on the Libertarian Party by visiting http://www.LP.org. The Libertarian Party proudly stands for smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom.

El Adulterio Virtual

Posted in Comentario by alvarezgalloso on noviembre 18, 2008
